Air Excavation Process
Air excavation has two functions; it begins by breaking up soil with pressurized air. Simultaneously, the vacuum sucks up the broken soil into the debris tank. Air Excavation can dig through soil from gravel and soft ground, to tougher, frozen ground. This method is suitable for locating underground utilities, such as electric cables, gas lines, fiber optic cables and other types of underground utilities. Air excavation is the preferred style of digging around electrical lines, as air is nonconductive. This process is both highly efficient and low-impact, which explains how it coined the term “Soft- Dig”.
